Recently the Obama government was blocked by House Republicans who are against the administration spending any money over any lawsuits that helped to defend the President’s Immigration policies.
There was a 222-224 vote that arrived over an amendment by a hardcore Immigration advocate. Earlier this week Obama’s policies through executive action were being overturned – executive actions include the granting of work permits and the stays over deportation to millions of illegal immigrants. Although the efforts of the House were largely unsuccessful the Republicans claimed success as they stated that the policies were put on hold by a judge.
Many states in America have reasoned that the executive action of President Obama was by large unconstitutional. There is a Circuit Court in New Orleans that would hear arguments next month with regards to the lawsuit. The administration would be blocked by the amendment from spending any money.
The House also put out a vote – 227 to 109 towards an amendment in which certain federal funds would be blocked to locales that refused to give names to immigration authorities. Localities also declined from participating in a federal program that turned over the names of people that were picked up for crimes.
