• WHAT TO TAKE TO THE IMMIGRATION MEDICAL EXAMINATION!
  • 9_June_1As you prepare for the Immigration Medical, one of the last steps in the Green Card journey, here is a list of the things to keep in mind as you get ready for the final haul!

    • A list of the vaccinations that you have already taken.

    • If there is anyone in your family who is applying for immigration along with you and has mental, learning or other special disabilities then you will have to submit a report of their condition apart from any other supervisory requirements.

    • If you have tested positive for the skin test for tuberculosis in the past then a certificate from your physician stating the conditions of the positive test result must be provided along with the treatment given and its duration. If you have ever been diagnosed with the disease then a written certification must be provided that is signed by your doctor, stating that you have been treated properly. This certificate must also include all the dates and types of medicines that were taken during the course of the treatment. If an abnormal X-ray of the chest has ever come up in the past the last X-ray film should be produced at the Medical. Care should be taken that the original X-rays should be carried, not just the typed reports.

    • If syphilis has ever been contracted a written certificate signed by a doctor or public health official should be produced stating the success of the treatment.

    • Prepare a list of all the medications taken by you if you have chronic illnesses. You should be ready to explain each condition explicitly to the Civil Surgeon.
