• Obamacare coverage for 6,600 Arizonans at risk due to immigration status
  • 6,600 Arizona residents are at risk - could lose out on Affordable Care Act Health insurance for failing to answer about their citizenship or immigration status

According to the US department of Health and Human Services, even after repeated notice, emails and phone calls from the federal agency nearly 310,000 individuals nationwide who haven’t cleared all the discrepancies by September 5, will lose out on their health insurance market place – Affordable Care Act.

According to HHS the questions arise when information listed in a person’s marketplace application, such as Social Security or permanent resident card numbers, don’t match the federal government’s databases. This does not mean that the person will not be eligible for the coverage, but their insurance plans will be terminated next month provided the federal government gets proper documentation to avoid termination.

With 36 states having federal marketplace, the letters are been sent to these states, whereas the remaining states operate their own marketplace and they take the responsibility of processing the applications.

The letters request that affected individuals need to send the requested documents to HHS through their online health insurance marketplace account, or mail the documents to HHS.
